Cubic Transportation Systems announced it received the industry’s first certification from the Association of German Transport Companies under new standards for an Internet-based sales office system for the issue and administration of contactless smart card-based e-tickets using off-the-shelf hardware. After two years of field use with its client Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV), the Cubic vHGS solution received certification against the rigorous German eTicket standards, validating the technical approach and providing a model for other providers.
InterPark, LLC, , has completed its purchase of 300 E. Pratt in downtown Baltimore, which represents the best remaining developable parcel of open land in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. InterPark intends to co-develop the site into a mixed use project and has enlisted Cushman & Wakefield to identify and select a development partner. With strong demand for both office and residential properties along the Pratt St. corridor, InterPark has retained Forum Studio of St. Louis to complete several design concepts for the site, including multi-use options for hotel, residential, office, retail and parking.
Scheidt & Bachmann continues to expand its PARCS project portfolio in the West Coast by recently signing with the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to install a new, fully automated parking system for the famous historical landmark. This is the first project for S&B in Santa Cruz and S&B will be partnering with the Santa Cruz Seaside Company to install a state-of-the-art revenue control system that will include entry lanes, exit lanes, automatic pay stations, bar-code readers and integrated validation program. The project is scheduled to begin installation in the first quarter of 2014. The company was also selected by the City of Las Vegas to provide complete turnkey parking solutions for the Neonopolis Parking Garage in Las Vegas. The parking garage for the large retail center owned by the City consists of two entry lanes, three exit lanes, and four pay stations. The project is slated to open in April of 2014.
