It’s the Right Thing to Do!

I have spoken to a number of people who have been vaccinated, and their experience has been positive. Not just that they are now protected from the virus, but the people they met at the vaccination center were happy, positive, and as one colleague put it, high on Pfizer.

Robyn and I had a similar experience when we got our shots last month in Santa Monica. The people were of all ages, and they seemed relaxed, and yes, happy.

I got the feeling that these people weren’t there because of some government mandate but rather because they felt that vaccination was the light at the end of the tunnel. They saw the ‘jab’ as definitely the way out of the mess in which we have found ourselves for the past 14 months.

But it may be more than that. Perhaps we did it because it was the right thing to do.

Just as so many things we do, some almost automatically, because they are the right thing to do. Letting a car pass in front of you, not having that last drink for the road, skipping dessert, stepping aside for someone waiting at an elevator, picking up a bit of trash in front of your house, a pat on the back for a colleague. We do them not for any particular self serving reason, but because they are the right thing to do.

And when we to the right thing, we feel a bit better about ourselves and yes, a bit happier too.

So add another item to that list of ‘right things’ and sign up and get vaccinated. The quicker you do, the sooner we will get back to normal, and besides, it’s the right thing to do.
